Whazza JADIP?
Well, no. The name JADIP is the acronym of a philosophy we picked up a
few years ago - "Just Another Day In Paradise". In short the thought is this: This is the only world upon which human beings live, hence it is the best of all possible worlds on which to live. Theodore Roosevelt said, “Do what you
can, with what you have, where you are.” We will continue to keep an interesting and full life as long as we can. That is paradise.

JADIP is our Great Harbour1 N37 trawler. We bought it and live on it specifically to cruise America's Great Loop2 over the next year or so. To find out more about why we chose to do this at this time of life, why we chose this boat, why we are doing the Loop, and many other questions you might have, read my various essays, comments, and thoughts on these subjects and others that we will pen (keyboard?) over time. However the main purpose of this website will be to make regular entries of our experiences and progress as we navigate around the Great Loop. Hope you enjoy it.
1 Yeah it’s really spelled that
way. I guess using the English (as
opposed to American) spelling gives it a more high-class impression for
marketing. Sort of the same thing and
using the spellings “theatre”, “centre”, and “colour” in advertising copy.
